In Cahoots On Cheese
What is one of the most intriguing, different, variety-filled shops at the Mix? Well, this could be debatable as to what you come to the Mix seeking, but if you’re wanting a unique lunch, look no further than The Cellar Cheese Shop.
The shop is filled with delicious scents of fresh cheese (and bread too) and you can sample just about everything before you take your pick. This is a great lunch spot, featuring a few pre-made sandwiches like Prosciutto: house pepper jam, pecorino; Fromager: d’affinois, honey, marcona almonds; Black: truffle butter, gruyere; Salami: roasted tomato, pecorino. Yet you also have an option to create your very own custom sandwich!
But, if you’re not looking for a sandwich and need a midday snack, check out their cheese platters. You can choose from their vast variety of cheeses, and they will even make it look pretty. Many around Orange County and beyond have been fascinated with the Cheese Shop. The Daily Pilot published an article featuring the shop in April and The OC Register before that.
Owners, Dawn and Sherrie, have deemed themselves and their team as “cheesemongers.”
As stated on their website, this is the Cheesemongers’ mission for this, The Cellar Cheese Shop: “We the Cheesemongers of the United Stores of The Cellar, in order to bring our customers a more memorable encounter with the Fromage, establish community spirit, insure superb customer service, pledge to sample every cheese in the shop, provide fair prices, promote creativity, secure your loyalty to our fromage and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Mission Statement of the United Stores of The Cellar.”
